Product Description

Sold in bags of 5 crowns, with all crowns a minimum of 2 years old.

Karri Heights Estate is a beautiful farm at Youngs Siding halfway between Albany and Denmark in the south-west of W.A. In addition to alpacas and beef, the owners Lorraine and Rob Wright grow 15 acres of asparagus in rich Karri loam which has been spray free during harvest for the past 5 years. We are delighted to be able to now provide you with mature crowns grown at Karri Heights by a grower who is a member and past president of the W.A. Asparagus Growing Association.

Karri Heights asparagus is a hybrid variety evolved from Jersey Giant and K54 varieties. It is a naturally bee-pollinated hybrid which has successfully acclimatised to this area of the WA south coast near Albany. The crowns originate from a 15 acre asparagus patch with soils ranging from loam to sand, clay and gravel.

Best suited to cool or mild climates, Asparagus is quite easily grown and when established, will continue to produce for 15-20 years. Asparagus adapts well to most soils with good drainage. Best to be planted June to August.  Produces large spears with tight green uniform heads.

  1. Very happy.

Very happy with purchase and even more happy with the flavour of my asparagus.

  2. HUGE, healthy specimens

I received 10 Asparagus crowns from BulbsOnline within 3 days of placing my order, with express post they cost me under $4 each and were so carefully packed. They are HUGE, healthy specimens and already showing new spouts. Each crown is roughly the size of a dinner plate, which I look forward to filling with future harvests.

I had tried to obtain some crowns locally but the DIY store only had small, dried, husks and the nursery wasn't stocking them this season and with quarantine restrictions needed a WA supplier BulbOnline are perfect. I will be ordering, with confidence, more quality plants from BulbsOnline as my garden develops.
